Internal Atrium Glazing

Our client required us to carry out glazing replacement of a specialist fire rated glass product located internally on the 6th floor overlooking the main lobby area.

Project Details:

--> 6th floor internal atrium

--> Works completed over one night

--> Crane setup internally on 6th floor level

--> Weight - 350KG

--> 30mm Fire rated glass with bespoke screen print design

Objective:

The glazing replacement was to be carried out on the 6th floor of an occupied office area, which added to the complexity of the project. Not only did we have to protect the surrounding area, but due to the way the building is designed we would have to lift the glass internally.A&C designed a lifting plan that would allow us to set up a crane internally on the 6th floor and lift the glass from the ground floor to the works area. The office consisted of raised office flooring with limited weight load allowed.

A&C’s expertise allowed us to plan and execute the lift and replacement of this glass within the constraints of an occupied office area with limited floor loading. Measures were taken to protect all working areas and spread the floor loading of crane and access equipment.

Outcome:

The high level fire rated glass was safely and successfully replaced, without any damage to surrounding areas or down time to the occupants of the floor and building.
